9th Annual International Squash 3’s Tournament

The Hong Kong Football Club recently had its 9^th annual international Squash 3’s tournament. This is where some of the region’s best club teams battle it out in teams of three in a best of 3 game format. There was much to play for with title’s being decided for the men’s open, ladies open and masters open (age 45+). As always the squash was of its highest quality but the atmosphere and spirit of the game was the main winner of this great tournament. Teams from Brunei, Thailand, China and Singapore all travelled to Sports Road to take part in the event.

With the league format at the start of the competition there was plenty of action on the Friday afternoon and all day on Saturday. Sunday had the business end of the tournament with the silverware being played for in all the competitions.

In the men’s cup final the football clubs one stop shop beat KCC men. With the plate final seeing Shanghai squash energy overcome the Singapore Cricket club.

The ladies cup winner was KCC Ladies who beat Shanghai Squash Energy with the plate being won by HKFC old school beating Thailand ladies.

The masters cup winner was Thailand’s Royal Selangor Club beating HKFC’s M&M&M with the Masters plate being an all HKFC final with 2RL beating the Expandables 4.

The player of the tournament was Li Dong Jin who played for the Chinese ladies team Shanghai Squash Energy.
