Plenty of Thrillers at Halloween Social Squash (by Keith Frith)
With a bag full of ghoulish masks, devil’s tridents and other freakish paraphernalia, Carlos the friendly ghost organized a Teams event to celebrate Halloween. A great new format saw The Vampires take a bite out of The Black Cats, The Witches flying high against The Pumpkins, The Ghosts gliding their way past Team 666, and The Devils tempting Trick or Treat into some wayward shots.
With bonus points being thrown around like newts’ gizzards at a witches’ coven, the result was largely irrelevant, but for the record
The Pumpkins won with a blood curdling 23 victims, 8 more than second best team The Ghosts. The night’s MVP (Most Vampire-like Player) went to Eric Ho Ho Ho (Ed: I guess that would work better in a Xmas article..) who left puncture marks on all 7 opponents.
The night ended with a few glasses of pumpkin juice before the big one, the announcement of Scariest Dressed Player, the winner to receive a free night of squash torture with Cloaked Carlos.
Ghastly Graham thought he’d won by a process of elimination (no-one else bothered) but just before the witching hour Warlock Will arrived, in a pair of very scary tight shorts, to claim half the prize. Two victims for our coach to devour at his leisure.
