The 2014-2015 Hong Kong Squash season is about to begin (first matches start October 13th), and our HKFC men’s teams are ready to do battle!
Our teams are very well represented in the Hong Kong Squash league, with 15 men’s teams in the main divisions, and another 6 in the masters divisions.
I am very pleased to see a growing number of junior members joining us this season! And what talent and promise! Most notably Amarik Khosa in our HKFC5 (Division 5), Maxwell Kerr and James Horsey in HKFC10 (Division 10), and Matthew Chan starting off in HKFC14A (Division 14). And watch out for the Charging Celt – big Edward Griffiths in Division 11.
We also welcome back some returning members – Peter Hill (World Masters Squash 50+ 2nd runner-up) in HKFC2A (Division 2). Peter Shum in HKFC6B, Harold Low and Jason Brown in HKFC6A, Stephen Glover in HKFCM3A, and Paul Casey in HKFCM3B to name a few!
I wish to thank the convenors for taking on the challenge of captaining their respective teams this season! Without them, this would not be possible, and so I take this opportunity to remind members to make themselves available to play as often as possible – and to please let your convenor know well ahead of time if you are unable to play.
So I wish you all a great season of competitive squash!
Play Hard, Play Safe, and Have Fun!
Elliot Froidevaux,
Men’s Squash Captain
