Farewell to Simon Barton and his Family

Simon Barton has been a very prominent and very popular member of the Squash Section at HKFC. He’s represented the club in the main Hong Kong squash leagues (Division Three) for many years, as well as within the Masters Division One – and he has heaps of trophies from his involvement with the teams. In addition, though, he has supported the Junior Squash Section and been an excellent coach to the younger section-members. Two of his children, Olivia and James, have fared very well in the Junior Championships and both are very keen squash players.

Unfortunately, for us, Simon and his family are relocating to Sydney, Australia for work and life in June. Simon will be a big loss to the section – especially to Captain’s Bar – and we’ll have to get used to not seeing his cheerful smile behind a pint of yellow fizz. Who knows, perhaps our next squash tour might take in a trip to Sydney? Hopefully, we’ll meet again, on and off the squash-court.

Simon and his wife, Emma, and their children, Olivia, James and young Josh will be sorely missed at the club. The Squash Sections wishes them all the very best of success, good health and good fortune in their new home.
