Winter League Summary - Spring

The winter league is now approaching the business end of the season. Into the 6th month of games the HKFC teams are fighting it out to either win the league or finish the season in the top four to secure a place in the play-offs. Every individual match is important as this gives the team one league point with an extra point being awarded to the overall winners of the team’s matches.

Division 2

HKFC 2B led by Ho Ming Chiu have raced away to have a 9 point lead at the top of the division and have won 13 of their 16 matches played this season. Division 3

HKFC 3 convened by Terence Teo have kept up momentum from their fast start to the season. They currently lie joint top with 82 points with Young Player 5. Only losing 2 of the 17 matches played this season they have guaranteed a place in the play offs but will be looking to win the league in what is going to be a very close finale. Carmen Lee has 9 wins out of nine and remains unbeaten in the league this season.

Division 4

HKFC 4 have amazing stayed unbeaten so far this season with 14 wins out of 14. They look to have all but secured the title being 22 points ahead of second place. Well done to James Li and team for having such a great season to date. Ray Man the team’s number one has so far been unbeaten all season and tops the divisional rankings. Other players who remain unbeaten for HKFC 4 are Wilson Chan, Sean Soo, Chris Caves and Karen Lau which shows the strength of this team.

Division 5

David Robinson’s HKFC 5 team have had a good season so far in a very tight league. They currently lie in 5th place but with only 4 points between the 2nd place team and themselves it is all to play for to ensure they gain a play-off berth and finish higher up the table. David Champion tops the divisional rankings.

Division 6

The old rivalry of the two division 6 teams continues as predicted at the start of the season. Club captain Julian Tanner’s 6B team are in third with a game in hand on arch rivals the HKFC 6A team led by Jason Lam sat in second place and 3 points ahead. The last few games of the season will be massive to see who can gain bragging rights of being the top HKFC div 6 team and then who can get furthest in the play offs.

The division 7 team who were league and play off champions last year have not disappointed this season. Convener Dave Chan has led the team well to be leading the table with a clear gap between them and 2nd place. Charles Ko the team number one remains unbeaten so far this season and tops the divisional rankings with Gary Lam the number 3 also unbeaten.

Division 8A

HKFC 8A led by Alex Berriman lie in 4th place in the league but will be looking over their shoulder in  a very tight division with only 5 points between them and 6th place.

Phil Ting’s 8B strong team have continued their solid start to the season. With a couple of results to be updated they are sitting pretty in 2nd place and will be looking to get closer to the top spot and put additional pressure on the league leaders Friend Club 5. Wilson Li and Dinesh Hathiramani both have helped the cause by being unbeaten so far this season.

Division 9

Mark Squire’s division 9 team have battled well all year and lie just outside the 4th place play-off position. They have a few remaining games this season to notch up some wins and get into that 4th place spot.

The HKFC 14 team led by Thomas Cheung look to be out of contention for the play-offs but will finish mid-table in this competitive division.

Masters Division 1

The Julian Ragless led M1A team lie in 4th position and look well set for a play-off place in the very high quality league. Roger Liden’s M1B have fought well all season but lie in 7th place and appear to be out of contention this season for a play-off position.
