The Hong Kong Masters Squash Open, 2020

News Update:  

We are delighted to announce that this year’s event has been sanctioned by Hong Kong Squash as the official Hong Kong Masters Squash Open, 2020 and will be a WSF Masters Tour event.  Please note that all entrants will need to have a WSF Squash Player Identification Number (SPIN) (details here) – allowing results data to be gathered for easy reference and for future event rankings.

2020 Open


  • Great international competition over 3 days.
  • Open to men and women aged 35 and above.
  • Individual tournament draws by age-group.
  • “Monrad” draw system to ensure all participants have the opportunity to play throughout the competition.
  • Subject to draw sizes. play  will start from 2pm on Friday 29th May and ending around 3pm on Sunday 31st.


  • Full access to HKFC – Asia’s best sports club.
  • Fun social events including Players’ Dinner on Saturday 30th May.
  • Player shirts.

Entry Terms and Conditions:

Entrants must have achieved the minimum age of the entered category on or before 29th May, 2020.   Each player can only enter one age-group.

Entrants are fully responsible for their own medical and liability insurance.

Withdrawals / Refunds

  • Entry fee will be refunded in full in the event of withdrawals before the closing date for entries.
  • Fee are non-refundable from closing date for entries.


All matches will be played at the Hong Kong Football Club,  1 Sports Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

Subject to entry numbers draws will use the Monrad* system in age-groups  from 35-39 to 80+.  Monrad is a multi-match draw format whereby all players continue to play, win or lose through to a final finishing position.

In the event of less than 8 entries in any age-group the Organizer may, at its discretion, combine adjacent age-groups or run small draws in a round-robin format.  Affected players will be advised accordingly.

The format should provide for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 scheduled matches per player through the event.

Practice booking from - 24th May
Draws Published - 27th May

Thursday 28th May

- 5.30pm – 9.30pm Practice and Registration
Friday 29th May  - Registration from 8.00 am
  - 2pm     1st and 2nd Round Tournament Matches
Saturday 30th May - 9am to 6.30 pm   3rd and 4th Round Tournament Matches
  - 7pm - Evening Social event - details to be confirmed
Sunday 31st May - From 10am to 3pm   Final Round of tournament matches
  - 3pm Prize Giving



  • All matches will be best of 5 games to 11 points, point-a-rally (PAR 11).
  • Players much check-in at the tournament office at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled matches.
  • Players should be available to referee and/or mark the match immediately following their own.
  • Non-marking shoes and appropriate squash attire must be worn.

Practice Courts

A number of practice courts will be available to all players from 5.30pm to 9.30pm on Thursday 30th and Friday from 9am to 2pm.  Booking sheets available the at courts.  Max 30 mins if others players are waiting.
