2019 Squash AGM
All Day

This is to give notice of the Squash Section Annual General Meeting, which will be held at court 7 in the Club Squash Centre from 4:45 on Saturday 22nd June 2019. This will be after the Men's Club Championships.

At 4:45pm GC members Robert Lawson, Neil Roberts and Don Rider will give a brief presentation primarily on the Club’s financial position both now and in the future. Additionally there will be an update on the current situation regarding the PRL issue which the Home Affairs Bureau reported last February. The AGM will commence immediately after this.

The following have been emails to all members, which will be taken as read at the meeting:

  • Notice of the AGM, including the agenda and relevant rules from the bye-laws;
  • Minutes from last year's AGM;
  • Chairman's Report;
  • Ladies Captain's Report;
  • Junior Chairman's Report.

The financial report will be circulated before the AGM once the closing accounts have been received from the club.

Kindly note that any further items proposed for inclusion in the agenda must be submitted in writing to the Secretary at least 7 days before the proposed time for the commencement of the General Meeting (i.e. by the end of 15th June). Questions to the GC on the finances can also be pre-submitted through the secretary prior to the AGM.

Football: HKFC Summer 6s 2019
7/9/2019 - 7/30/2019
7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

To once again prove that the squash section are the best all-rounders in terms of sport we have been asked to enter a team for the HKFC Football summer 6s and get a chance to have a friendly game of football on the hallowed turf of the footy club.

Matches are taking place on Tuesday evenings in July on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. With each team having two 25 minute matches per evening between 7pm-10pm.

All levels are welcome as are mixed teams so if you would like to join the team can you please reply back by Friday 21st June. The matches have rolling substitutions so I am looking to get as many in the team as possible. Also no problems if you won't be available for all the matches.

Let John Thompson know if you have any further questions; email him at secretary@hkfcsquash.com.

2019 HKFC Summer League
7/15/2019 - 8/31/2019
7:15 PM - 10:00 PM

With the league concluded and now is the time to think about the off-season.

As in previous years, there will be 6-8 teams of 5-6 regular players, and as many of us will be taking some time out of HK the core teams will be backed up by a large contingent of pool players.

Matches will be played Monday and/or Wednesdays at HKFC starting at 19:15 (details depends on number of entries). Ladies, men and juniors of all standards are welcome to enter.  First games will start early/mid July and conclude towards the end of August.

If you wish to play, please can you reply with the following information:

  1. Name
  2. Regular or pool player (regular players should aim to be available for 4-5 out of the 7 matches)
  3. Whether you are willing to be a convenor
  4. Your 2018/19 winter league division

Places will be given on a first-come first-served basis, and priority will be given to those willing to convene.  And just to remind all SPMs – this does count as one of the events towards your commitment!

I hope as many of you as possible will enter and enjoy the spirit of the Summer Leagues and take the opportunity to meet and play with people you may not ordinarily be playing with.
